Beismek's Automatic Fire Extinguisher Overview
What is an Automatic Fire Extinguisher?
An Automatic Fire Extinguisher is a fire suppression device that works without human intervention. It is designed to detect fire using a heat-sensitive bulb or sensor and automatically releases extinguishing agents such as clean agents, dry powder, or foam to suppress fire at the early stages. These systems are ideal for enclosed or unmanned areas like server rooms, electrical panels, data centers, and industrial equipment.
How Does It Work?
The extinguisher is usually mounted overhead. Once the surrounding temperature crosses a predefined threshold (typically between 68°C to 79°C), the glass bulb or fusible link breaks, activating the nozzle to discharge the extinguishing agent. Since it works without electricity, it is highly reliable even during power outages.
Applications of Automatic Fire Extinguishers
Automatic fire extinguishers are widely used in:
Electrical panels
Server rooms
ATM rooms
CNC machines
Industrial switchgear
Chemical storage units
Small generators and UPS cabinets
These are perfect for areas where constant human supervision is not feasible.
Advantages Over Manual Systems
Unlike manual extinguishers, automatic systems do not depend on the presence or action of people. They ensure immediate suppression of fire, reducing the risk of equipment damage and saving valuable time during emergencies. Their compact design allows them to be easily installed in small or concealed areas.
